Service & Parts Department

At Albany World of Cars we have a sophisticated workshop which deals with all types of vehicles. Our services include basic wheel alignment to total engine rebuilding and everything in-between. We specialise in Mazda, Mitsubishi, Land Rover, Hyundai and Volkswagen repairs and services as some of our technicians are continually trained in new and improved techniques for servicing the customers' cars.

The workshop is managed by Craig Saunders, a master technician with 20 years experience in workshop mechanics and management.

We offer a free courtesy bus and courtesy cars for a small fee when your car is in for a service with us, so that you'll be able to get on with your day without too much disruption. Please remember to reserve a courtesy car with us as we have a limited amount of cars.

Our parts department deals in most types of car parts and is able to assist you in obtaining the correct part that you need for your car. The manager, Micheal Thompson and his team will be able to help you with any part that you may need.

Maintenance Tips

To ensure that your car is well maintained, please take 10 minutes a month to check your instruments and oil. Follow these easy steps and your car will be loving you.

   Check Oil

  • When checking the oil level, make sure your car is on level ground. The engine should be warm, however, if you've just been driving, wait a few minutes.
  • Remove the dipstick and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth. Reinsert fully and remove after three seconds to check oil level.
  • If it's at the low end of the indicator, top-up your oil using the grade specified in your owner's manual. To ensure engine longevity, we recommend using genuine manufacturer oils. Be careful not to overfill.

   Check Coolant

  • First, check the coolant level in the plastic reservoir. It should be between the high and low marks.
  • Next, check the radiator. The engine must be cool before you remove the radiator cap. It it's low, top-up with the same coolant as specified in your owner's manual.
  • If your vehicle is consistantly losing coolant, there may be a leak and you should see your dealer urgently for genuine service.

   Check Washer Fluid

  • Fill the washer bottle with the clean water, adding the recommended amount of windscreen washer additive.
  • Don't use household detergents as they can damage paintwork and wiper blades.
  • Consult our service department about which type of washer additive is best for your car.

   Check Windscreen Wipers

  • Check the condition of your wiper blades. If they're starting to perish, replace them with genuine blades. Our service department can fit them for you.

   Check Lights

  • Test headlights on low and high beam. Check your indicators, plus your reversing, parking, brake and number plate lights.
  • The best way to check the rear stop, reverse and indicator lights is with the help of someone else or by looking back into a reflective surface, like a window.
  • If you find an inoperative light, see our service department immediately.

It is recommended that you have your car serviced by a genuine service centre on a regular basis and this will ensure longevity of your car. Each manufacturer has a recommended service which is specified in the owner's manual.
